Space Opera VENUS Packages

Clockwise starting at 6 o'clock: human space adept, human monomyth hero, human space politican, human space owner-operator, yeti space mechanic, the space politician's robot, and construct space mechanic

Monomyth Hero
  • Bonus Attributes: see below
  • Bonus Skills: see below
  • Bonus Edges: see below
  • Bonus Gear: a hover motorcycle or hover passenger car
  • Special: A monomyth hero has nine additional character creation points (see 3. Edges & Hindrances in Chapter One: Character Creation of Savage Worlds) that need not be spent during character creation. At any time during play, these points may be spent on Attributes, skills, or Edges as the monomyth hero discovers a hidden legacy or talent. Once points are spent, they are gone and the traits purchased are permanent.

Space Adept
  • Bonus Skills: +3 dice Faith & Fighting
  • Bonus Hindrances: either Code of Honor [Major; follow the code of your order] or Vow [Major; serve your government, master, or temple] AND either Pacifist [Minor] or Vow [Minor; serve your government, master, or temple]
  • Bonus Edges: Adept, Arcane Background (Miracles), Martial Artist
  • Bonus Gear: laser sword
  • Special: A space adept who commits a mortal sin becomes an evil nonplayer character under the Game Master's control until redeemed by the other heroes. As compensation for this, space adepts who commit major sins suffer only the same penalty as minor sins.

Space Adept (Fallen)
  • Bonus Skills: +3 dice Faith & Fighting
  • Bonus Hindrances: Bloodthirsty [Major], Vow [Major; serve your master], Enemy [Minor; your master], and one additional Minor Hindrance of the player’s choosing for which the character gains no benefits
  • Bonus Edges: Adept, Arcane Background (Miracles), Martial Artist, Power Points
  • Bonus Gear: laser sword
  • Special: Space adepts usually do not commit mortal sins unless tempted to follow a fallen space adept. These mentors rarely have their pupils’ best interests in mind and instead subtly scheme to prevent their apprentices from growing in power. The Game Master may elect to allow a space adept who commits a mortal sin to continue play as a fallen space adept, gaining the additional Hindrances and Edge; if the character is somehow redeemed, the hero loses the Hindrances and extra Power Points.
